The room was a bit old-school but clean and tidy. Loved that there was a teapot, never seen that before! The bed was comfy enough, but some furniture felt like it was from a past era. Had a few quirks like cobwebs behind the TV and a shower that took forever to get warm. But for £28 a night with breakfast, it wasn't a huge deal.

Recommend it for solo travelers who don't mind a bit of nostalgia
Spent a couple of nights in a small room, it was a bit hot but I managed to cool down eventually. The lady at the front desk was helpful and swapped me to a room that was way better than the one I got ready initially.
It wasn't exactly a bargain, but it was reasonable for the experience.

Had a great time with my friends at the hotel! We visited the beach and nearby attractions and really enjoyed the food and friendly staff. The service was quick and attentive at breakfast, and overall it felt very homely. Be prepared for some steep walks to the seafront, but it’s manageable.
One downside was that the TV in our room didn’t work at all. We mentioned it at reception, but they didn’t seem to have a solution. It was disappointing, but we managed to have fun without it.

the breakfast n evening meals were really good value, we loved the food choices and the portions were big enough. restaurant staff were friendly, particularly mo who was super helpful. the room was comfy enough for what we needed, and we liked that it was close to shops. entertainment in the evening was quite good too, had a nice time.
the only downside was the air fresheners in the hallways were a bit overwhelming n the wifi didn't work in our room. also, the shower took a while to get the right temp.

Decent stay with helpful staff
Spent a night in a twin room with my group. The waiting staff at breakfast were super friendly and always ready to help. But, the rooms could use a makeover—those old TVs and a shower that barely worked was a letdown. The food was tasty though, which was a nice surprise!

great staff but parking issues
The staff all demonstrated friendliness throughout my stay, making me feel welcomed. My single room was clean and comfortable, providing a cozy environment for relaxing between outings.
The parking situation was problematic, particularly with high vehicles.

I recently had a lovely weekend at the Ashley in Torquay. The rooms were clean and bright, giving off a comfortable vibe. Breakfast options were solid with vegetarian choices available. The staff stood out for their friendliness—especially the waitresses. They were incredibly accommodating for my brother's birthday celebration. They helped set up the cake and decorations, which made the occasion special. I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere throughout the hotel. some aspects could use improvement. The furniture looked quite dated, and a few bits in my room felt worn out. Noise from other guests occasionally disrupted my sleep, especially late at night. Parking was a bit tricky since it closures are in place at night. it was a decent stay with great staff. I'd consider returning for the friendly service and enjoyable breakfast, but it could benefit from some updates.

I had such a delightful stay! My room was a cozy Single Room equipped with everything I needed, right down to a tea kettle and a comfy bed. The evenings were filled with whimsical entertainment, and the culinary experience was top-notch with a scrumptious breakfast and dinner that didn’t break the bank!
